Estimator Responsibilities The ability to develop estimate strategies to ensure an effective estimating process.
The ability to read and interpret design packages, specifications, and technical drawings.
The ability to minimize financial risk.
Compute costs by identifying materials, purchased items, fabrication processes, finishing processes and time requirements using the company ERP system and established hourly rates per drawings, specifications, and related documents.
Work with Procurement to solicit and collect material costs Work with Engineering to identify optimal material utilization and fabrication methods Work with Production Departments to establish options for fabrication and finishing methods o Maintain metrics related to quality and timeliness of estimates supplied to customers and win / loss ratio of estimates submitted Review and recommend updates to work center rates Regularly review job costings to establish accuracy of estimates and estimating process Solicit feedback from Production Departments to improve estimating accuracy Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends Contribute to team effort by performing duties within the Sales Department and other departments, including Production Departments, as needed Track individual and/or company (KPIs) / metrics.
Strive for daily improvements Other duties as assigned Estimator Requirements Extensive metal fabrication blueprint reading and the ability to interpret and analyze specification and tolerances Extensive knowledge of metal fabrication and painting / powder coating processes The ability to work under strict deadlines without letting the shortage of time affect the quality of work Needs sheet metal/fabrication environment experience Must be able to effectively solve problems Must be proficient in Mathematical Skills Flexible and adaptable to customer and business changes Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written High level of technical expertise Strong analytical thinker Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems Disciplined, customer-focused, and team-Oriented PM20 PI227308888 Recommended Skills Customer Service Quality Assurance Cost Estimating Software Communications Quantity Surveying Project Cost Management Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
